Pre-Register Now for the 'Call of Duty: Mobile' Beta on iOS and Android

Following in the footsteps of PUBG and Fortnite, Activision is bringing Call of Duty’s storied multiplayer gameplay to iOS and Android devices with Call of Duty: Mobile. The game will include classic Call of Duty multiplayer modes such as Team Death Match and Free-For-All, and fan-favorite maps like Nuketown.

Call of Duty: Mobile will be free to download from the iOS App Store and Google Play when it launches sometime later this year, but publisher Activision is giving players a chance play the game early via beta events that will run ahead of its launch, and you can pre-register for access right now.

How to pre-register for Call of Duty: Mobile’s beta

Android users can pre-register for beta access on Call of Duty: Mobile’s Play Store page. Simply sign into the Play Store with your Google account, then click or tap the “pre-register” button and you’ll be automatically enrolled to receive notification when the beta is available for all eligible devices you own.

While pre-registration for Call of Duty: Mobile is not available on the iOS App store, both iOS and Android can pre-register through Activision’s official Call of Duty website. Click the “Pre-Register Now” button and input your email address and other required information. You’ll get an email when the beta is available in your region.

An official date for when the beta will begin on either iOS or Android has not been announced, but reports seem to indicate that it’ll be happening some time in the summer.

Interest in the beta is sure to be high, given the enduring popularity of the Call of Duty series and the success of other console and PC games making a successful jump to mobile, but it should be pointed out that pre-registration does not necessarily guarantee beta access.

That said, don’t give up hope if you aren’t in the initial wave of testers.

According to Call of Duty: Mobile’s official FAQ page, Activision will be holding multiple pre-release beta events over the coming months, though how many there will be and how long they will run is yet to be announced. With no firm release date other than a broad launch window targeting later this year, it’s possible we could see a handful of beta sessions being held ahead of launch, meaning players will hopefully have multiple opportunities to play the game early.

Specific device support is also unclear at the moment. Official word is that the development team is “working every day both to optimize the game for high-end phones and to make it broadly accessible for as many other devices as well,” but no specific devices have been confirmed.

A safe bet would be that flagship phones like the iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S10, and the Pixel 3 could be among the most likely supported devices. It’s likely more devices than those will be supported by launch, but equally possible that beta support could be limited to high-end devices at first.
